MAS is still a fairly new breed with a wide variety of temperaments.

Our kennel specifically focuses on mellow, non-nervy personality traits. We like our aussies to be easy to have at home, not destructive or yappy. However, Aussies in general are very talkative and ours are no exception! This breed was originally a working dog and bred to be high energy & focused. Please keep this in mind when deciding to adopt a mini aussie. My dogs love to be with us and the family. They do not like to be locked in the back yard or forgotten in a crate for many hours. The are meant to be with you majority of the time. On 90% of my arrands I have one of my dogs with me. I plan my family activities with my dog(s) in mind.

Home Life

We have a variety of families who both own their home or live in an apartment. As previously mentioned, the key factor in Is a Mini Aussie Right for Me? is time.

Families who rent an apartment or have a home should be ready for frequent walks and outings with their puppy. Early training is important to curb any unwanted behaviors. Mini Americans typically need 30-60 minutes of exercise per day including some form of mental stimulation.

Do you have small children at home or another dog? Be prepared to teach your children how to properly interact with your new puppy. Little humans are part of the ‘pack’ too, and can be subject to the pack mentality without adequate supervision.

A new puppy may develop aggressive biting and jumping habits, loud barking or other undesirable behavior if you have not established pack leader ship. Click here for an informative article.

Breed Characteristics

Miniature Australian Shepherds, also known as Mini Aussies and Mini Americans, are a small herding breed of dog that is becoming increasingly popular. They are friendly and intelligent, making them great family dogs. However, like all breeds, Mini Aussies have unique characteristics and needs that should be considered before you decide to add one to your family. They are also relatively easy to train and make great companions for active people.

Miniature Australian Shepherds are often used as working dogs on ranches and farms. However, they are just as well-suited to life as a family pet. Despite their smaller size, they do not require as much exercise as full-sized Australian Shepherds, but they still need plenty of daily activity to stay happy and healthy.

How to Care For Them?

Australian Shepherds are a herding breed of dog that is known for their high energy level and intelligence. They were originally bred in Australia for their sheepherding abilities, but today they make great companion animals.

Miniature Australian Shepherds are active dogs that need plenty of exercises, so they are not well suited for a sedentary lifestyle. Unfortunately, they are also very intelligent and easily bored, requiring an owner willing to provide them with mental stimulation. If you are searching for a Aussie, here are some things you should know about caring for them.

Miniature Australian Shepherds need plenty of exercise, so a daily walk or run is necessary. They also benefit from having a large yard to run around in. In addition to being physically active, they also need mental stimulation. This can be provided in obedience training, agility courses, or simple puzzle toys.

You need to understand the importance of nutrition to maintain a healthy weight and prevent health problems. Miniature Australian Shepherds do best on raw or high-quality dry food tailored to your pet’s needs

Miniature Australian Shepherds make excellent pets for families with children. A Miniature Australian Shepherd might be the perfect breed for you if you are looking for a devoted companion who will always be up for an adventure.
